. March 7, 2007

Proxibid, a premier provider of live Internet auction broadcasting services, today announced that antique radios and vintage electronics will be available for online bidding during an auction slated for Noon on March 17, 2007. The auction will feature several hard-to-find audio and scientific pieces. With more than 300 lots, there will be something for every collector. Consultant and floor manager for this auction will be Bob Dobush, noted radio and vacuum tube historian.

Items available at auction include vintage electronics and radio equipment from the turn of the 20th Century through the 1970’s. More than 300 lots of radio, hi-fidelity audio equipment from the 2930’s to 1970’s, speakers and vacuum tubes from the 1920’s through the 1960’s will be featured during the auction. Many quality pieces by Zenith, Marantz, Solver-Marshall, Pioneer and Western Electric will be available for online bidding during the event.

“This auction features some unusual and difficult-to-find items,” said John Farkas of Antiques and Estate Auctioneers. “By offering online bidding via Proxibid, we can reach bidders from across the globe. Extending our reach ensures that anyone who wants to add to their collections can do so.”

Auction highlights include:
• Lot 10: 1938 Zenith shutter-dial radio in excellent unrestored condition with unique “Zenith” logo grille cloth – believed to be manufactured for a prominent dealer for display or for an annual radio show;
• Lot 3: a rare Sparton Visionola projector/record player that played film projected onto a screen with dedicated records. This item needs some attention but is very rare – only five-to-ten pieces are known to still be in existence;
• Lot 28: Pioneer SX-1010 top-of-the-line stereo receiver with owner’s manual and schematic;
• Lot 20: Marantz model 18 tuner/amplifier with scope tube for tuning.
