IAG Renews Exclusive Agreement With Turners

. March 7, 2007

IAG New Zealand Limited (IAG), New Zealand’s leading general insurer, has this week renewed its contract with Turners Auctions naming Turners as the sole sales channel for its damaged vehicles.

The two-year contract will see Turners Auctions, New Zealand’s leading car sales channel, process approximately 10,000 IAG vehicles per year through its Damaged Vehicle Auctions channel.

Turners’ real time web-based car auction facility Turners Live was a key factor in IAG renewing the agreement with Turners, according to IAG National Motor, Loss Adjusting and Investigations Manager Barry Adkins.

“Turners Live increases the accessibility of these auctions for the public and dealers alike due to its ease of use and the fact that our vehicles are made available to bidders from around the country,” said Mr Adkins.

Turners Live provides a simultaneous video and audio stream of each auction and allows customers from around the country to bid online against floor bidders.

“Since its launch last year, Turners Live has proven very popular, particularly with damaged vehicle buyers, who can rely on the high standards of cars and detailed information provided online,” said Todd Hunter, General Manager Marketing, Turners Auctions.

Mr Hunter said Turners’ national network allows Turners to sell damaged vehicles anywhere in the country.

“We have also set up our systems so that we can sell damaged cars that are stored off Turners sites as well,” he said.

IAG owns State, NZI, NAC, Swann Insurance and Mike Henry Travel Insurance in New Zealand.
