Major Fine Art Auction - Monday 19 March, Adelaide

A major oil painting by Ivor Hele titled Odalisque estimated to realise $30,000-40,000 is just one of the highlights at the Fine Art Auction being conducted by Bonhams & Bruce at their Auction Gallery in Adelaide on Monday 19 March at 6.00pm.
The auction which will take place at 444-446 Pulteney Street features spectacular works by David Bromley including two nudes and a Boys Own Annual depiction, a Michael Shannon landscape, four works by Sir Hans Heysen, as well as lithographs by Olsen and an important Ray Crooke painting aptly titled The Offering est. $30,000-35,000.
On offer is contemporary and collectable art by Australian artists ranging from etchings and lithographs through to oil paintings to suit all budgets and tastes.
Historically important works including a unique watercolour by colonial artist/engraver Joshua Payne which depicts the architectural elevation of St Peters Cathedral, Adelaide with Bishop Short to the foreground est. $3,000-5,000. This work is complemented by the offering of a William Morris & Company watercolour sketch of stained glass windows for All Sole’s Church, St Peters.
