The wait is almost over for the latest release of DVLA private number plates. On the 5th June 2007 the latest 57 series of car registrations will go on sale with the inevitable scramble for the best private number plates the new registration numbers offer.
The DVLA release a new series of number plates every 6 months. The last private number plates the DVLA introduced were the 07 series which sent buyers crazy, eager to secure the latest personalised registration numbers. The 07 series of private number plates provided buyers with many memorable car registrations including great name plates and the highly desirable 007 private number plates to coincide with the new James Bond movie. The new 57 series of private number plates have never been issued before so thousands of new registrations will be available.
People are already thinking about what combinations of the 57 series will create the best private number plates, including the DVLA itself, who are holding back some of the more obvious combinations for release at their future auctions. WE57 ERN (Western), OY57 ERS (Oysters) and MU57 ANG (Mustang) are already set aside for auction release along with many other great combinations. The DVLA auctions are held every few months and are good place to buy cheap dateless number plates and private number plates.
UK private number plate dealers http://www.capeplates.co.uk will provide full access to the new 57 registrations as well as a comprehensive database of older prefix, suffix and dateless private number plates. Demand for the new registration numbers is expected to be high so register you interest early.
When buying a new reg for your vehicle you must bear in mind that you can never make your car or motorbike appear newer than it actually is. In this instance the new 57 private registrations can only be assigned to a 57 registered vehicle or newer. If you see a new reg that you like and do not have a new car to assign it to you can purchase the private number plate on a certificate of entitlement. The cost is exactly the same and the certificate can be held indefinitely until you have a new enough vehicle to assign your new private number plate to. Certificates are valid for 12 months are can be renewed annually for £25.
The next series of private number plates to be released after the 57 number plates will be the 08 registrations in September 2007 when once again more classic private number plates will go on sale.
