World’s Largest Industrial Auctioneer to Conduct Unreserved Auction at Baufach 2007 in Leipzig, Germany

. September 12, 2007

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the world’s largest industrial auctioneer, will conduct an unreserved heavy equipment auction on October 27, 2007 at baufach Leipzig, a major annual construction trade fair in Germany. The Company has secured 50,000 square metres of exhibition space at the trade fair, where construction and other industrial equipment items will be displayed and then sold on auction day to the highest bidders.

“We conduct regular unreserved auctions at our 37 auction facilities around the world, as well as many offsite sales – but this will be the first auction we’ve conducted entirely at a trade fair,” said Hans Biringer, Ritchie Bros. Area Manager. “We have a large selection of late model equipment being sold in the public auction, and we’ll be adding items right up until sale day. Whether you’ve got one item or an entire fleet to sell, contact us to discuss having your equipment sold in our Leipzig auction. We’re looking forward to bringing a worldwide audience of bidders to baufach 2007.”

Among the equipment being sold in the unreserved auction: a 2007 Extec C12 plus jaw crusher, three late model Terex-Finlay screening plants, several late model Hitachi and Ahlmann wheel loaders, more than 20 mini excavators and dozens of other equipment items. Anyone interested in having surplus equipment sold in the unreserved public auction can contact the sale site at telephone +49-541-981330.

Like every Ritchie Bros. auction, the October 27 Leipzig auction will be open to the public and completely unreserved – meaning every item sells to the highest bidder on sale day, regardless of price. There are no minimum bids or reserve prices. Everything is sold “as is, where is.” Interested buyers have three ways to bid on equipment in the auction: in person at the baufach trade fair; by proxy bid; or over the internet, live and in real time, using the Company’s online bidding service, rbauctionBid-Live. A complete list of items in the auction, including photos, is available on the Ritchie Bros. web site at www.rbauction.com.

Ritchie Bros. has been conducting unreserved industrial auctions throughout Europe for 20 years. In 2006, Ritchie Bros. conducted more than 175 unreserved industrial auctions worldwide, with total gross auction proceeds of US$2.7 billion. Twenty of those auctions were held in Europe (in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the U.K.). Ritchie Bros. maintains its European headquarters in Breda, the Netherlands, and currently has four European auction facilities: in Moerdijk, the Netherlands; Paris, France; Livorno, Italy; and Sagunto, Spain.

BID ONLINE – Interested buyers who are unable to attend the Leipzig auction in person are able to bid online, live and in real time, using the Ritchie Bros. internet bidding service, rbauctionBid-Live. Internet bidders must register online before auction day at www.rbauction.com (at least 2-3 business days is recommended for first-time registrants).

The auction site is located at the Leipziger Messe, Messe-Allee 1, Leipzig, Germany. The auction starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007.
