Something for Everyone at Kaminskis Year-End Auction

Published December 13th, 2007

AuctionPublicity.com - Kaminski Auctions, one of Massachusetts’ premier antiques and fine art auction houses, announces its Year-End Collections & Estates Auction. The auction includes consignments from multiple estates across Massachusetts and California. This two-day event features a varied collection of antiques, collectibles, furniture, glass, ceramics, decorative accessories and even vintage Hollywood photos. The event takes place at 11am on Saturday, December 29 and on Sunday, December 30 at the Sheraton Colonial Ballroom in Lynnfield. Previews take place Friday, December 28 from 2-8pm at Kaminski Auctions in Beverly, Massachusetts and on the days of the sales between 8:30 and 11am at the hotel ballroom in Lynnfield. The complete catalog is available online at www (dot) KaminskiAuctions (dot) com and the auction will also feature live online bidding through eBay Live Auctions. For more information, call 978-927-2228.

The event features consignments from multiple estates in Massachusetts and beyond, most notably from the estates of the Henry H. Connolly Jr. of Salem and Robert Oliver of Boston. Also included is a collection of fine art from a Cape Cod estate, Nautical and Folk Art from a collector in Brookline, Massachusetts, and a large collection of fine furnishings from San Diego, California, Kaminski’s west coast location.

Among the diverse grouping of collectibles is a rare Imperial Satsuma bowl (Est. $3,000 - $5,000). This ornate piece depicts an imperial wedding procession of over 50 gold-clad figures. The bowl measures just over seven inches across and is signed on the underside.

Also featured is a grouping of decorative accessories from the estate of Naval Architect, Robert Oliver. Items from the Oliver estate include a 19th Century copper running horse weathervane by J. Harris & Sons (Est. $5,00 - $8,000). The horse, frozen in mid-stride, is mounted on a brass rod and most of its original gilding remains intact.

An early 19th Century Regency sideboard (Est. $4,000 - $7,000) highlights the furniture category at this two-day event. The sideboard boasts a flame mahogany construction with an exotic banded inlay. A brass rail and octagonal drawer pulls accent the piece.

Emphasizing the superior selection of jewelry at the event is a collection of rare and valuable rings. Among these treasures is an 18-karat white gold ring with a natural 5.40ct Burma sapphire surrounded by diamonds totaling .83tcw ($7,000 - $10,00). The predicted headliner of the event is a jaw-dropping 18-karat white gold, emerald and diamond ring (Est. $15,000 - $25,000). The center stone, a 5.88ct emerald, is of exceptional quality and has a high clarity rating. The ring includes a certificate from the Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America dated November 26, 2007.

“This two-day auction event gives us the opportunity to wrap-up on an incredibly successful year,” comments Frank Kaminski. “We are always looking for items to feature in upcoming auctions and can take consignments in any volume, from a single piece to an entire estate.”
