Manion’s List it Yourself Auction celebrates successful first year online
After one full year online, it’s official – Manion’s List it Yourself Auction is here to stay.
“We launched the new service in January of 2007,” said Guy Manion. “It’s been gaining momentum each month, and today we have about 700 members.”
The List it Yourself service began at the request of Manion’s traditional consignment auction service customers.
“We had many consignors who possessed sufficient computer skills to list their own items, and did so with other popular online auction services,” said Manion. “However, they were disappointed with the rising fees and unnecessary restrictions imposed by these other online auction services.”
Basic listings are free with Manion’s List it Yourself auction, three free photos are included, and items can re-run indefinitely with no additional charge.
“If someone chooses a basic listing there is no charge what so ever,” said Manion. “They can also post three photos of the item at no charge, and essentially the item could be relisted forever, with the only charge being a minimal five percent final value commission after the item sells.”
In addition, the List it Yourself auction does not restrict historical artifacts from being listed on the site.
“Our ‘Freedom in Collecting Commitment’ does not restrict WWII German items from being sold on the List it Yourself site, or our traditional consignment auction,” said Manion. “History is not always pretty and artifacts from unfortunate eras serve an important roll as a reminder – so they will not be repeated.”
Manion’s traditional consignment auction website can be found at www.manions.com, and the List it Yourself auctions are located at auction.manions.com. For more information, visit www.manions.com and call 866.626.4661.
