Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers to hold large unreserved auction in Orlando

ORLANDO, FL, Feb. 13 – Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers , the world’s largest auctioneer of industrial equipment, will conduct a large unreserved industrial auction at its permanent auction site in Orlando, Florida from February 19-23, 2008.

A Ritchie Bros. auction held during February of last year in Orlando broke worldwide records, generating gross auction proceeds of more than US$172 million. More than 6,500 truck, equipment and real estate items were sold in that auction to over 5,800 registered bidders from 63 countries, every U.S. state, and each Canadian province and territory. For this upcoming auction there are already more than 500 consignors who will sell more than 6,100 items, with new equipment and trucks being added every day.

“We’re very excited about how this auction is shaping up,” said Gary Seybold, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Regional Manager for Florida and the Caribbean. “We have a lot of great items here, including the most late model equipment items that we’ve ever sold at this site, and we also expect to see the most cranes we’ve ever had here.”

The five-day auction will include assets from the Ring Power Corporation, Kelly Tractor Co., Sumiquip Inc., The Middlesex Corporation, Nortrax Equipment, Briggs Construction Equipment and the Crane Rental Corporation.

Among the items that will sell to the highest bidder are: 180 Articulated Dump Trucks, 130 Rollers, 20 Hydraulic Truck Cranes, 30 Rough Terrain Cranes, 350 Crawler Tractors, 130 Backhoe Loaders, 60 Motor Graders, 40 Motor Scrapers, 290 Wheel Loaders, and 140 Truck Tractors. The schedule of what is selling each day is as follows:

Day 1: Recreational Vehicles, Brooms, Utility Tractors, Loader Backhoes, Forklifts, Telescopic Forklifts, Rough Terrain Forklifts, Aerial Equipment, Sweepers, Compressors, Light Towers, Welders. Day 2: All Terrain Vehicles, Logging Equipment, Wheel Loaders, Agricultural Tractors, Pull Scrapers, Water Wagons, Articulated Dump Trucks, Rock Trucks, Generators, Pumps, Trenchers, Directional Drills. Day 3: Recreational Vehicles, Motor Graders, Motor Scrapers, Crawler Tractors, Crawler Loaders, Pressure Washers, Boom Trucks, Cranes, Paving Equipment. Day 4: Recreational Vehicles, Skid Steer Loaders, Compaction Equipment, Hydraulic Excavators. Day 5: Transportation Equipment, Trailers, Containers.

Like all Ritchie Bros. auctions, this will be an unreserved auction, meaning there are no minimum bids or reserve prices and everything will sell to the highest bidder on sale day, regardless of price. Everything is sold “as is, where is.” Registration is free at the auction site and starts Saturday, February 16. The site will be open daily for registration and inspection of the equipment from 8am to 5pm February 16th through auction days.
