New On-Line Auction Site Launches for Bottle Collectors – bottleauction.co.uk

. February 23, 2008

This month sees the exciting launch of bottleauction.co.uk, a brand new on-line auction website dedicated to the buying and selling of every conceivable type of bottle. The site has been set up specifically to help bottle clubs, associations and individual collectors to have a low-cost one stop place where they can trade bottle of all shapes and sizes.

Bottle collecting in the UK has seen a huge increase in interest and there are now over 30 bottle collectors clubs around the UK. Bottleauction.co.uk is keen to work closely with these associations and to firmly establish itself as the UK’s number one bottle auction site. Bottle clubs will benefit from a share of the commission by way of a 10% rebate of the net sales fees each month.

Bottleauction.co.uk lists a wide variety of bottle categories, from highly collectable ginger beer bottles, wine bottles and beer bottles to the more unusual antique perfume bottles. There are even a number of Victorian poison bottles which can be picked up for as little as just one pound.

Set up and developed by Ben Carter, Tom Carter and Russell Beesley the site aims to cater for both the buyer and seller and offers a number of significant advantages over other auction sites. Most importantly there are no listing fees, and for bottles sold at less than £5, no sale fees either. With low fees of just £1 and £2 payable for bottles under £50 and £100 respectively and a maximum fee of just £3 for any bottle sold for over £100, the site looks set to become the number one favourite amongst the UK’s ever increasing bottle enthusiast community.

Bottleauction.co.uk not only offers collectors with a low cost alternative to other sites such as eBay, but more importantly it provides them with a site which is dedicated solely to the buying and selling of bottles.

In March bottleauction.co.uk will be sponsoring the 11th Annual Shrewsbury Bottle & Collectors Fair. Further events are planned and the company are keen to forge sponsorship links with other similar events across the UK.
The site will be advertised through the national press as well as eBay and Google. There will also be a national PR campaign to coincide with the launch period.

Those listing or buying an item on the site before 12 noon on 15th June 2008 will be placed in a £500 free prize draw. Users to the site gain 1 free entry every time a listing or purchase is made.
