New Auction Website Just for Cumbria

Published May 19th, 2008

A new Auction Website designed specifically for Cumbria has gone on line. Local entrepreneur Simon Brace has launched www.westcumbriatrading.co.uk after getting frustrated at the long distances required to pick up a bargain at other auction sites.

“Due to the unique geographical nature of Cumbria I kept seeing interesting items for sale only to find the majority of the time they were what seemed like the other end of the country” says Simon. “With it`s strong sense of community I thought how about a local auction site just for Cumbrians? So I`ve spent the last three months developing and testing ideas.”

cumbria-trading.jpgLocalised auction sites are a relatively new concept and Simon hopes that Cumbria will make an ideal area. From large items like farming equipment, cars and caravans to smaller collectables, fragile items and everything else, viewings and collections are easier and quicker and a better price is usually obtained.

The site is free to join and standard listings are free. There is even a live chat room and a forum for members to have a `crack` and swap ideas and tips. Simon is also using the site to promote local produce and trade in Cumbria with the option to have your company advert displayed on all pages. Simon says “I want to give the site a real Cumbrian feel and I hope everyone will join in”
