Alderfer Auction Center Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Published July 28th, 2008
Alderfer Auction & Appraisal Company celebrates 20 years at its Fairgrounds Road, Hatfield, Pennsylvania, Auction Center on August 7.? This marks the anniversary when Sanford L. (Sandy) Alderfer and Vernon L. Martin made a huge commitment to the business and the region. Two decades later, the progress - and the commitment - continue. It was in 1987 when Sandy Alderfer, son of company founder Sanford Alderfer, and his brother-in-law, Vernon Martin, opted to buy property and create a 15,000 square foot auction center. Twenty years ago, the auction business was at a crossroads. The days when auctioneers sold a farm, including the land, livestock, equipment, farmhouse, and household goods were dwindling as the large farms disappeared. Instead, auctioneers were experiencing the emergence of the downsizing family that would sell only some of its collections and couldn’t house 400 people on their front lawn.
The Alderfer Auction Center was created to bring a new generation of auction business to the region - a goal that has been reached.
Alderfer Auction Company invites the public to join them in celebrating the Auction Center’s 20th Anniversary on August 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 501 Fairgrounds Road in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. Along with the weekly live auction, there will be food, prizes, and fun! This event will be a great way to beat the summer heat in the Auction Center’s comfortably air conditioned facility.
Since 1959, Alderfer Auction Company has been ethically and creatively guiding people through their maze of property in transition. Alderfer’s live auctions at the center, on site, and through eBay, bring the world to Hatfield. Other Alderfer companies that are dedicated to helping those in the transition phase of their lives include Tranzon Alderfer Real Estate, Sanford Alderfer Real Estate, and Sanford Alderfer Moving & Storage.
