Chicago, IL - On the heels of auctioning one of the world’s most significant wine cellars to date, Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. will hold its next auction on Saturday, November 1st at Tru restaurant in Chicago.

hart-davis-hart-wine.jpgWith 1,131 Lots worth an estimated $2.3-$3.4 million, the sale will feature fantastic consignments including wines from Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Pétrus, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Screaming Eagle, and over 100 lots from the cellar of Craig Williams, former winemaker of Joseph Phelps Vineyards.

The Williams consignment includes large format offerings of Joseph Phelps Insignia, as well as Eisele and Backus Cabernet Sauvignon from Williams’ cellar in Napa Valley.

The live auction will take place at Chicago’s award-winning restaurant Tru, beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. (CST) on November 1st. Tru is located at 676 N. St. Clair Street in Chicago. The Fox Cellar, whose pre-sale estimate was$6.8-$10.2 million, exceeded expectations with $11,160,583 realized, becoming the fourth largest wine auction in history, and the largest cellar sold thus far in 2008.

The Fox Cellar sale attracted bidders from 40 states as well as Australia, Brazil,Canada, Columbia, China, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Mexico,New Zealand, The Netherlands, the Philippines, South Korea, Spain, Singapore,Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Bidders from Asia, Europe, and all over the United States traveled to Chicago to be a part of the exciting action at the auction, which took place at Tru restaurant. This year, Hart Davis hart has sold $26,513,771 over five auctions with a combined pre-sale estimate of $16,039,750$23,997,909. With a mere 7 lots passing since September of 2007, the firm’s sell-through rates are the highest in the industry, an important indicator of Hart Davis Hart’s ability to reach theglobal audience of top wine buyers.
