Benton County Treasurer Announces First-Ever Online Auction of Foreclosed County Property
Silver Spring, MD., November 19, 2009 – Benton County Treasurer, Duane Davidson, announced today that Benton County’s first-ever online auction of foreclosed real estate auctions will be listed on the online auction Website Bid4Assets.com (www.bid4assets.com) over a three day auction that will run December 7 – 9, 2009. Benton is the second county in the state of Washington to hold its annual auction of foreclosed real estate on the Internet, Thurston County being the first.
The Benton County Treasurer has contracted with Bid4Assets to conduct its first Internet auction of foreclosed property. Thirty foreclosed properties will be auctioned; minimum bids will be as low as $966. No deposit will be required to bid on these auctions. Click here to view: http://www.bid4assets.com/benton
Foreclosed property in the state of Washington is real property with taxes that are three (3) or more years delinquent. For current owners to redeem the property after foreclosure proceedings begin, all years’ taxes, interest, penalties, and foreclosure costs must be paid. The only way to purchase a property from foreclosure is to bid at the annual auction held each year.
Bid4Assets’ proven auction engine has positioned the company as the leading advertising and auction service provider for both tax deed and tax lien sales nationwide. Bid4Assets has successfully sold hundreds of thousands of foreclosed properties and tax lien certificates for more than 50 counties in California, Nevada, Michigan, Idaho and Florida. By using the Internet, counties are able to reduce administrative costs, reach more buyers and sell a greater number of properties and certificates at each sale. The taxpayers are the direct beneficiaries of these county sales.
“We are excited to work cooperatively with Bid4Assets in bringing the first-ever online foreclosure auction to Benton County. The online auction format is just one example of our commitment to continuously increasing efficiencies in accordance with our mission statement”, said Benton County Treasurer, Duane Davidson. Holding a tax sale online improves county efficiency and sells a greater number of properties at each sale thereby keeping property on the tax rolls.
