. November 24, 2009

“The response to the estate auctions of Brigadier General Robin Olds has been absolutely overwhelming,” said John Conway, VP of Manion’s International Auction House, Inc. of Kansas City. “Fighter pilot Robin Olds was a caliber of man often imitated by Hollywood, but never duplicated in real life; many consider it an honor to add an attributed item to their collection.”

Brigadier-General-OldsThe Kansas City based online auction entity was selected by the executor, Christina Olds, to broker the sale of the lion’s share of the estate. In addition to items belonging to Robin Olds, items belonging to Olds’ wife – noted actress Ella Raines – are included as well.

“We have sold hundreds of items from the estate in three separate online auctions,” said Conway. “In the fourth auction, which is online now, we’ve included new items from his state. In addition, the unsold items from previous auction will be reduced by 50% or more.”

Olds rose to fame in the Air Corps during WWII flying P-38 and P-51 aircraft. He soon attained “Double Ace” status. By the end of his tour, he was officially credited with shooting down 12 German aircraft.

During Vietnam, Olds flew F-4 Phantoms, as a Wing Commander, and achieved “Triple Ace” status by shooting down another series of enemy aircraft. Additionally, he is credited with the conception of “Operation Bolo”, which essentially decimated the North Vietnamese Air Force in a single day.

Offerings from the estate include numerous personal items. All bids are placed online at – free registration is required to bid. To view all items available, visit, log in, and click the Robin Olds banner in the center of the page.
