Manion’s International Auction House, Inc. Reports Rise In Firearms Consignments

Well known for the sale of militaria and other historic collectibles, Manion’s International Auction House of Kansas City has recently recognized an increase in firearms consignment.

“For whatever reason, it is on the rise,” said Manion’s firearms specialist Patrick McWilliams. “We’re seeing more and more variety – everything from $100 shotguns to WWII German weapons worth several thousand of dollars.”

Manion’s International Auction House holds a Federal Firearms License which allows the online auction company to buy and sell firearms.

“Selling a single weapon or an entire collection can be a daunting task for an individual,” said McWilliams, “and there are very few options for the seller to obtain maximum value.”

Manion’s solves this problem. The items are delivered to their Kansas City, Kansas facility where they are inventoried to ATF specifications, photographed, described, and then placed up for bid on the website: www.manions.com.

“Even with our commission, consignors generally receive much more revenue than they would through a local dealer or during a gun show,” McWilliams said. “And buyers bid with confidence knowing each piece is accurately represented and begins with a reasonable opening bid price.”

Currently Manion’s has hundreds of items listed in their firearms category, and firearms auctions close 365 days a year at 8:30 p.m. CST.

“We’re listing between 10 and 20 different pieces a week – sometimes more,” McWilliams said. “We recently received a very rare Canadian Ross rifle, rejected as unsuitable for the trenches of France during WWI and sold to the US Army for use as a drill rifle. We also recently sold a one of a kind Walther PP, presented by WWII German Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler to a high ranking SS officer . . . but we sell regular old side by side 12 gauge shotguns, too; we offer a wide selection of firearms to our customers.”

Manion’s International Auction House, Inc, has brokered the sale of militaria, historic collectibles, and firearms since 1970. What began as catalog auctions held several times a year has grown to online auctions closing 365 days a year on their proprietary auction website: www.manions.com.
