Fleet Disposal Contribution Auction Plan Good News For Charities

Leading fleet insurance brokers Staveley Head have welcomed the news that the motor charity BEN plans to launch a new Fleet Disposal Contribution Plan (FDCP). This will see lease and rental agencies working with auction houses, in order to raise money for selected good causes when disposing of vehicles. It is expected that around GBP 1 for each sale will be donated to charity.

A number of major companies in the motor trade have already pledged their support and are expected to sign up for the scheme. The plan has been designed to be as simple as possible for all parties and has been praised for its sustainable nature.

One of the UK’s largest auction houses, BCA are among those who have joined. Managing Director Andrew Hulme stated: “BCA have been staunch supporters of BEN over many years and this is another way in which the sector can help to provide increased funding to the industry charity.”

Among the leasing firms who have signed up, are Leaseplan, with David Brennan, Managing Director commenting: “Leaseplan are very pleased to be able to support BEN in this way. A small contribution for each car sold will, collectively, provide a significant income steam for BEN and enable it to continue caring for our industry colleagues.”

Staveley Head are one of the UK’s leading brokers of motor trade insurance. From their base in Flintshire, North Wales, the firm offers cover from a panel of leading insurers, including Zurich and Allianz. By using this panel, they can offer the most affordable and appropriate cover to clients. A spokesperson commented on the introduction of the new charity scheme by saying:

“This is a fantastic initiative and is a great way for fleet and vehicle rental companies to demonstrate their commitment to corporate responsibility and donating money towards charitable causes. We are encouraging all of our motor trade customers to sign up for the scheme.”
