Following the success of Bonhams recent Collector’s Motor Car sale in February in Paris at the Grand Palais that realised close to €10 million, Bonhams announce the prestigious ‘Les Grandes Marques à Monaco’ sale in Monte Carlo on the 20th May.

Now in its 25th year, Bonhams celebrated sale in Monaco is once again under the patronage of the Grimaldi Family and will be held at the Musée des Voitures du Prince. Monaco’s reputation as the heart of luxury lifestyle provides a truly international and cosmopolitan platform for the classic Motor Car market.

Monaco holds a unique position in terms of classic car sales, according to Bonhams European Head of Department Philip Kantor, who points out that no fewer than 80% of the cars sold in the Bonhams Monaco sale go to homes outside the principality. Many of the cars go to Europe, the US, Australia and even China, which is one of the reasons Bonhams holds an annual sale in Monaco, as it provides such a superb international platform for classic car sales.

Bonhams has previously sold a stunning 1932 Bugatti Type 55 Super Sport that raced at Le Mans, which sold for over €2 million in the sale in Monaco. Following this fantastic result, Philip Kantor, Bonhams Motor Car specialist will be in Monte Carlo later this month to look for more treasures in private collections.

He comments, “The glamour of Monaco still works and Bonhams are delighted to have a presence, with support of the Grimaldi family, in such an international city as Monte Carlo. We have seen classic Motor Cars purchased by clients from all over the world, with buyers looking to Monaco as the pinnacle of luxury and glamour.” If you would like to have a free valuation do contact Philip Kantor at philip.kantor@bonhams.com/+32 476 879 471
