Hart Davis Hart to Conclude the Year with a Stellar Auction Featuring The Magnificent Cellar of Mr. Hugh Whipple and Remarkable Burgundy from an East Coast Collector on December 10th at TRU Restaurant in Chicago

(Chicago, IL) – Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the #1 wine auction house in America, will hold an exciting auction of Finest and Rarest wines on December 10th at award-winning restaurant TRU, located at 676 North St. Clair Street in Chicago. The impressive sale will feature U.S. private cellars and includes The Magnificent Cellar of Mr. Hugh Whipple. Mr. Whipple, a passionate and long-time collector, is thinning his extensive cellar with an amazing offering of Bordeaux from vintages 1990, 2000, 2003 and 2005 primarily in original wooden cases. The Whipple consignment showcases the best from Bordeaux, including top wines from the 1990 vintage such as Châteaux Haut-Brion, Margaux, Latour and Mouton Rothschild as well as greats from the 2000 vintage including Châteaux La Mission Haut Brion and Lafite Rothschild. There is also a dazzling selection of the highly esteemed Château d’Yquem from the classic vintages of the past five decades.

An East Coast collector will also be offering treasures from his extensive cellar of Burgundy. Aficionados will have the opportunity to acquire top wines of the best vintages from sought-after producers such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Leroy, Méo-Camuzet, Vogüé and Rousseau. Of special note in a case of 1990 La Tâche Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (12 bs) estimated at $42,000-$65,000 and a case of 1978 Mazis-Chambertin Maison Leroy (12 bs) estimated at $7,000-$10,000. The sale features 79 lots from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, spanning 25 vintages, containing 254 bottles, 20 magnums and 1 jeroboam.
