Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. to Hold Two-Day Auction on May 12th & 13th

Featuring Finest Bordeaux and Burgundy and a Huge Selection of Bourbon, Rye, and Scotch

(Chicago, IL)-Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the #1 wine auction house in the U.S. and leading online retailer, will hold An Auction of Finest & Rarest Wines on May 12th and 13th. This two-day sale will feature an impressive 2439 lots of incredible diversity and provenance, valued at an estimated $4.5-6.7 million.

HDH’s May sale contains a host of highly sought Bordeaux and Burgundy. An estimated $2.1-3.1 million of Bordeaux will be on offer, including 328 lots of First Growth Bordeaux (est. $1.1-1.7 million). One particularly noteworthy group of Bordeaux can be found within A Superlative Offering from Respected Producers from the Cellar of a Distinguished Collector (lots 1-313). Collectors will not want to miss the full cases of 2009 Château Latour (lots 81-83, est. $10,000-15,000), an imperial of 2000 Château Lafite Rothschild (lot 62, est. $7,500-11,000), and three bottles of 1961 Château La Mission Haut-Brion (lot 5, est. $6,500-9,500). Those seeking Burgundy will be pleased to find 555 lots, which are projected to bring in over $1.3 million. Bidders should take note of the 60 lots of DRC (est. $336,600-500,300), 73 lots of Leroy (est. $179,120-266,770), 44 lots of Armand Rousseau (est. $91,820-138,170), and 36 lots of Domaine Leflaive ($70,510-106,550). In addition to the great selection of Burgundy and Bordeaux, the auction includes a fine selection of California wine and Barolo.

On top of the huge assortment of fine and rare wines, the sale features an impressive selection of Bourbon, Rye, and Scotch. Whiskey lovers will find offerings from Hirsch, Martin Mills and Black Maple Hill as well as an estimated $71,600-105,900 of Pappy Van Winkle including two pre-2002 bottlings of the 20 Year Old and sixteen bottlings of the 23 Year Old. Bidders interested in Scotch will be thrilled by the 21 lots of vintage Macallan including a bottle of 1974 The Macallan 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Sherry Oak, Distillery Bottled (lot 1140, est. $1,300-1,900). In total, the sale features an unprecedented 190 lots of rare whiskey/whisky valued at an estimated $168,170-250,310.
