Genesis Jersey Auction This Saturday

Moline, IL-The Mallards are hosting the 11th Annual Genesis Jersey Auction this Saturday night at The MARK. The team will wear special St. Patrick’s Day themed jerseys as they host the Flint Generals beginning at 5:00 p.m. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Genesis Senior Compassion Fund.

In the first 10 years of the Mallards’ Genesis Jersey Auction, the team has raised over $490,000 for various Quad City charities. Past themes have included Throwback Jerseys, 1970’s Jerseys and Hawaiian Jerseys. In 1999, the team raised an event high $65,932. The highest price paid for an individual jersey was $7,100 for Gary Gulash’s 2000 Millennium Jersey.

Proceeds from the 2007 St. Patrick’s Day Jersey Auction will be donated to the Genesis Senior Compassion Fund which provides health care services for area senior citizens. “On behalf of the seniors who struggle to afford the health care they need, we thank the Mallards for their support of the Genesis Senior Compassion Fund and for their longstanding commitment and generosity to the people of the Quad Cities,” said Missy Gowey, Executive Director of the Genesis Health Services Foundation.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Genesis. They’ve been a loyal corporate partner for many years,” said Mallards President Tim Taylor.
