Fine Jewellery Auction Wednesday 4 April, Double Bay, Sydney

On Wednesday 4 April Bonhams & Goodman will conduct its first Fine Jewellery auction for 2007.

‘We are very fortunate to have secured five estates, two large private collections and an insolvency matter, making this first sale of the year possibly the best opening sale we have had the pleasure of offering,’ Gary Draper, National Head of Jewellery commented.

There are over 250 lots of antique and contemporary jewellery on offer. A few of the many highlights include a good selection of large diamonds over 1ct – in particular Lot 74 an unset 8.3ct K / VS2 brilliant cut diamond, Lot 78 a 2.07ct F / VS2 diamond ring and Lot 110 an all platinum three stone diamond ring the centre 5.01ct H / VS1 oval diamond is claw set between a pair of 1.01ct H / VS1 oval diamonds.

Quality watches on offer feature models by Rolex, IWC, Patek Philippe, Breitling and Vacheron Constantin including Lot 125 a Franck Muller 18ct gold ‘Havana’ chronograph wrist watch in ‘as new’ condition.

There is our usual good selection of coloured stone jewellery. Highlights include Lot 68 an important large tanzanite and pink diamond cluster ring, Lot 139 a good quality 17.5ct Colombian emerald and diamond cluster pendant, Lots 136 and 135 are a superbly matched ruby cluster and diamond necklace and matching earrings and Lot 161 is a rare cat’s eye chrysoberyl and diamond ring.

The two private collections have provided a particularly good selection of charming antique jewellery both for this sale and our Affordable Jewellery sale at the end of the month.
