Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance Virtual Auction

Vinolivo’s auction lots are going online. Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance have created a virtual auction for this year’s third annual Vinolivo Celebration, taking place Saturday, Feb. 16, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Lodge at Sonoma.

Visitors to will be able to bid on wine futures from Sonoma Valley’s most acclaimed wineries including Muscardini Cellars, Kunde Estate, Viansa Winery, Ravenswood, Valley of the Moon, MacRostie Winery, Benziger Family Winery, Chateau St. Jean, St. Francis, BR Cohn Winery and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.

The auction marks the first time that Sonoma Valley has offered wine futures via an online auction, providing consumers with pre-release access to limited production and hard-to-find wines at very attractive prices.

Bidding will continue through 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, allowing those who attend Vinolivo the added benefit of tasting the wineries’ current vintage offerings before making their final bid decisions. Winning bidders will receive their wines in 12 to 18 months, after proper aging but in advance of the wine’s release to the public.
A premiere food and wine event, Vinolivo is the grand finale of Sonoma Valley’s month-long Olive Festival, celebrating all things “olive” in the birthplace of California wine. More than 60 Sonoma Valley wineries, restaurants and artisan purveyors will be on had to showcase their finest wines, culinary delights and olive products in an intimate evening.

Tickets are $65 in advance (call 935-0803 or visit or $75 at the door. As with last year, the event is expected to draw a sell out crowd so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.
