SAINT LOUIS – Ivey-Selkirk auctioneers will conduct its semi-annual Toys and Collectibles Auction on Friday, April 18 at 9:30am at its St. Louis gallery. The auction preview takes place April 15-17.
A collection of over 200 pieces of pre-prohibition breweriana from primarily St. Louis related breweries includes Anheuser-Busch, Lemp and Falstaff breweries. Highlights include the Budweiser girl lithograph, “The Red Dress Budweiser Girl,” copyright 1907, in the original oak frame and estimated at $2,000-$3,000.
Ivey-Selkirk is offering 700 lots in the sale to include a fine collection of rare French clockwork toys by Fernard Martin and Victor Bonnet, robots, toy soldiers, cast iron banks, dolls and early Fisher-Price pieces.
A collection of World War I lithograph posters, Native American artifacts include stone, baskets, leather, and beaded works, Southwest pottery vessels, Roland Reed silver gelatin prints, antique firearms and militaria, antique maps and books.
A 1935 Dunhill lighter Hollywood momento inscribed ”From Ginger to Fred” and possibly from the movie Tophat is a unique and rare find. Comic art, autographed sports items and Apollo mission patches rounds out the sale.
