Historical Society of Ocean Grove Antiques and Memorabilia Auction

The Historical Society of Ocean Grove, New Jersey, continues its 2008 season of Special Fund-Raising Events with the popular Memorial Day Weekend Auction on Friday, May 23, at the Young People’s Temple in Ocean Grove.

Included is a wide array of items, including: china, glass, Roseville, Ruby glass, Hummels, Haviland, Noritake, advertising, photos, prints, books, concert posters, postcards, Harpers Weekly, trade cards, linens, embroidered sampler, vintage clothing, Amelita Galli-Curci, framed photo and poster, tobacco silks, Christmas items, dolls and doll furniture, child’s chair and Victorian rocker, circa 1900 child’s rolltop desk, wicker doll carriage, Currier & Ives, Bessie Pease Gutmann, wicker plant stand, and a wicker rocker. Items of local interest include 1913 Asbury Park Carnival Day, 1920 Borough of Ocean Grove Election Ballot, 1926 Asbury Park Business Directory, Ocean Grove “No Parking Sunday” sign, 1917 Asbury Park Baby Parade Program and numerous pieces of Asbury Park and Ocean Grove souvenir china and glass, pennants, Ruby Flashed Glass, Sterling spoons, and collectible memorabilia from other Jersey Shore towns.

The Ocean Grove Young People’s Temple is located at the corner of Pilgrim Pathway and McClintock Street across from the Great Auditorium. The auction preview is at 4 p.m. and the auction begins at 6 p.m. Absentee bids will be accepted. Buyer’s Premium 10 percent. A complete auction list, with descriptions, is available for $3.
