Auction of Burbank Studio Prop Collection

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., – In just a few days, collectors of movie relics and memorabilia, as well as auction addicts, antique lovers and others, will gather online and in person to review an extensive trove of “silver screen” treasures. Remarketing Associates, Inc. (http://www.remarketingassociates.com), a leader in cutting-edge auctions held live and through the Internet, will auction off 1,000+ lots, including hundreds of props and collectibles from major motion picture and television productions.

“Anyone with a passion for collecting movie memorabilia … or almost anything … will want to attend this auction,” says Jeff Tanenbaum, president and auctioneer of Remarketing Associates. “The owner of the collection purchased these items from a major Burbank studio and is now selling them off. The scope of this event is pretty extensive, and many of the pieces can be directly linked to well-known productions and big names in the arts & entertainment world.”

In viewing the collection, the public will find a treasure trove including: hero props; production models; rubber guns, sci-fi props; a five-foot diameter world globe; fairy tale movie village signs; vintage quackery; life-size prop dogs; neon signs; prop weaponry; street and traffic lights and signs; fine china and silver; pianos and jukeboxes; Disneyana; a hot air balloon basket; a Mardis Gras-style mask; robots featured in a Robin Williams movie; costumes worn by Omar Sharif; Jim Henson-produced masks from a cult sci-fi movie; a Rick Baker skeleton creation; a Jack Warden life-sized double; an oversized oil painting of George Washington; art images of Madonna and Walt Disney; and much more.

The auction spans two days, with Day One dedicated to antiques, furnishings, furniture, art and collectibles. On Day Two, Remarketing Associates will then call on the highest bidders for the Hollywood memorabilia, props and collectibles. The public can view and bid online and onsite. Event specifics include:

— Auction Date & Time: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3 & 4 at 11 a.m. (each day);

— Location: 521 S. Hewitt, Los Angeles (just south of Union Station on the Barker Block);

— Viewing: Sunday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and the morning of each auction day.

“While Remarketing Associates excels at conducting live auction events, we also provide the online auctioning community with state-of-the-art Webcast services,” Tanenbaum says. “This enables the public to see auction items live, gain a good sense of the integrity of the goods, and participate in real-time bidding. It’s efficient and convenient.”
