Renowend antique collector, dealer and decorator, Kenneth Greene is choosing to auction his life collection and waterfront estate in Norfolk, VA. Greene is changing his career path and decided use the accelerated sales services of Atlantic Asset Management
Norfolk, VA – On Saturday, June 13, 2009 Atlantic Asset Management Group will be conducting a public auction of the Hunt Club Point estate in the Azalea Gardens section of Norfolk. Originally built in the 1950’s by a group of Wilcox & Savage lawyers: Dicky and Kenny Spindle; Hunt Club Point was an elite waterfront clubhouse for many years. In 1986, the property was purchased by local Antique dealer, Kenneth Greene, who oversaw great renovation to the property including a new pool, tennis courts and a two story conversion to the home.
Located on Lake Whitehurst with spectacular views of the water and private wooded area, Hunt Club Point is one of the quietest and serine locations the City of Norfolk has to offer. A hidden gem for the few who know about the area. Owner Kenneth Greene recently decided to change his career path and attended the prestigious Mendenhall School of Auctioneering to become an auctioneer. He is now choosing to part ways with the estate and move to a more modest lifestyle by offering to sell his estate at auction. Not only is this a unique opportunity for the public to purchase a wonderful waterfront home in a nature-filled and peaceful portion of Norfolk… it’s also an opportunity to get your hands on an immense selection of Greene’s prized antiques…
Just prior to the home auction at noon on June 13th, Atlantic Asset Management Group will be auctioning the estate at 10am featuring a plethora of rare antiques. Greene, a Ghent businessman, ran International Antique Importers on 21st Street for many years where he held a 40,000 square foot warehouse known as “The Ghent Market & Antique Center”. Inside was a deli, coffee shop, auction house, toy museum and an arcade show. Ken traveled abroad for many years buying and selling unique pieces and styles of art, fixtures and furniture, toys and much more. You’ve probably seen his décor in many local restaurants such as La Galleria, Fellinis, Atlas Diner, Vivo-Cucina as well as various movies and productions. His antiques have earned him guest appearances on CBN’s Treasures in Your Home and other shows.
