The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, creator of “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions(TM),” announces its second annual Las Vegas event, taking place Oct. 7-10, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. A fourth day has been added as a result of the overwhelming participation in the inaugural Las Vegas auction that hosted more than 50,000 guests, and sold over 500 cars for a total of $29 million.
Consignment applications, available at www.barrett-jackson.com, are now being accepted for the all “No Reserve” auction, which will feature a unique selection of collector vehicles from classic and one-of-a-kind cars to exotics and muscle cars.
“Adding a fourth day to the auction is a testament to the celebration of the hobby, the resiliency of the collector car market and the quality of bidders and consigners we attract,” says Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “The city is so dynamic, and attendance exceeded our expectations last year. We are incredibly impressed with the crowd and can’t wait to provide the most action-packed Las Vegas auction yet.”
The 2008 Las Vegas event experienced an influx of qualified new bidders — all 50 states as well as Mexico and Canada were represented — with more than 650 of the over 1,200 bidders being first-time participants. The top selling car was a 1949 MG TC race car that went for $313,500, with the additional top seven cars selling for over $200,000 each.
“The Las Vegas auction will feature top-tier, mid-range, and more affordable vehicles,” added Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson. “This mix will attract a broad range of collectors, as well as provide an exciting experience for all levels of car collectors and enthusiasts.”
In addition to the live auction taking place on the main stage, attendees can walk the floor to inspect all cars available for sale, enjoy exhibitors offering an array of merchandise, and play the Barrett-Jackson slot machines for a chance to win a 2010 Camaro. For those who can’t make it to Las Vegas, SPEED will provide live, high-definition TV coverage of all four auction days.
All necessary consignment forms, along with other valuable information on bidding, ticket sales, vendor listings, updated consigned car lists, catalog pre-sales, and group rates at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino that are available for booking are also available at www.barrett-jackson.com.
