Inez Rix, owner and founder of Direct Auctions has been thrilled and surprised with the client demand for 2010. “Traditionally, January and February are sleepy times for us, with sellers and buyers slow to start the year, but so far this year has been a completely different story!”
Inez puts the high demand down to a number of key factors; increased marketing and publicity during 2009, new office openings through Spain including Mijas Costa, Marbella, Alicante and Murcia and the realisation by vendors that the proactive service provided by Direct Auctions, coupled with its market presence offers a more sure-fire solution to their property sale!
The growth of Direct Auctions continues through 2010 with the Algarve (Portugal) office opening in March and new openings coming up for the Costa Blanca, Costa Brava/ Southern France, Cadiz (Spain) and the Balearic Islands.
James Bowman, Sales and Franchise Director for Direct Auctions feels that their approach to growing the business has allowed faster coverage whilst maintaining levels of services and consistency. “We’ve worked on a strategy of franchising some regions whilst retaining company ownership of others” comments Bowman, “It’s been a learning curve that’s for sure and we’re constantly reviewing how we can strengthen our offer to investor and vendor alike”.
The auction season is about to start again for Direct Auctions with MIjas Costa and Alicante regions holding their auctions on February 25th, Marbella West on the March 18th and Algarve, Portugal on March 25th. “We’ve worked so hard to get people to understand that our services are almost a half-way house between an auction and a real estate agent” comments Rix, “Yes, we hold live auction and properties are sold at the drop of the hammer, but at the same time buyers can visit with us outside of the auctions to look at properties and subsequently make an offer, as one would with a traditional agent. In reality it’s the best of both worlds, but with greater savings!”
