Collectors are eagerly awaiting Bonhams New York’s June 16th sale of fine jewelry. Comprised of nearly 130 lots, the sale offers several excellent collecting opportunities.
An impressive diamond solitaire ring (pictured) will be of great interest to bidders. The cover lot of the sale it features a rectangular-cut diamond, weighing 10.32 carats. The diamond has extremely desirable proportions and is a coveted shape and size for admirers of emerald-cut diamonds. Accented by a surround of baguette-cut diamonds and accompanied by GIA report stating F color, VVS1 clarity, the ring carries an estimate of $550,000-650,000.
Also certain to attract collectors is a pair of diamond pendant earrings, each suspending a marquise-cut diamond, weighing 3.34 and 3.03 carats. The lot is accompanied by GIA reports stating the 3.34 carat diamond as F color, VS clarity and the 3.03 carat diamond as E color, SI1 clarity. Estimated at $50,000-60,000 the eye-catching piece is further accentuated by a micro-pavé diamond surround and surmount.
A circa 1935, late art deco diamond and emerald strap bracelet is cause for excitement. Designed as three openwork panels, each centers a marquise-shaped diamond within a rectangular surround of smaller marquise, baguette and old European-cut diamonds. Accented by calibré-cut emeralds, the striking piece is estimated at $30,000-50,000.
Highly anticipated is a cultured pearl and diamond necklace by Bulgari. With the collar designed as a series of multiple twin-line sections of pavé-set, round brilliant-cut diamonds and round cultured pearl borders, it carries an estimate of $25,000-35,000. Other lots expected to lure collectors are a diamond solitaire ring centering a 3.84 carat marquise-shaped diamond (est. $35,000-45,000); a Sterle Bracelet from the highly desirable, 1970’s French jeweler know for his fluid designs (est. $15,000-25,000); and a pair of cornucopia clips set with round and baguette-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 17.00 carats (est. 10,000-15,000).
Viewings will be held at Bonhams’ San Francisco galleries from May 21st to May 23rd and at Bonhams’ Los Angeles galleries from June 4th to 6th. Previews will take place at Bonhams’ New York galleries starting on June 12th until the sale date of June 16th. The sale will take place in New York on June 16th at 12 PM EST and will be simulcast to the San Francisco and Los Angeles galleries as well.
