WATCH BELIEVED TO HAVE ONCE BELONGED TO MURDER FUGITIVE LORD LUCAN COMING UP FOR AUCTION

Richard Winterton Auctioneers of Lichfield, (UK) are delighted to have been appointed as agents to offer a watch believed to have once belonged to Lord Lucan, (Richard John Bingham, 7th Earl of Lucan, b.1934, legally declared dead by The High Court in 1999).

The unnamed silver watch bears the following inscription on the backplate:

‘Presented to Lord ‘Lucky’ Lucan – The Old Fossil by his Friends at the Clermont Club, Mayfair, 18 December 1967′

A photograph has come to light apparently showing Lucan wearing a similar watch. It is believed that he was in South Africa during the 1980’s. The full story surrounding the watch can be found at www.dailymail.co.uk

The watch which was discovered in South Africa is being offered as Lot 15 in Richard Winterton’s Fine Art & Silver Sale in Lichfield on 29th March. The full illustrated online sale catalogue can be found at www.the-saleroom.com/richardwinterton
