Heritage Auctions has announced that well-respected numismatist and industry veteran Mark Feld has joined the company as a Senior Numismatist and Consignment Director, operating out of the company’s Dallas headquarters.
“Numismatics must run in my blood,” said Feld. “Numismatic pioneer B. Max Mehl was my grandmother’s uncle and, in addition to collecting coins as a child, I’ve been involved in the rare coin industry on a full-time basis since 1979.”
“If the chance comes along to hire talent like Mark, then Heritage, as a company, is going to take that opportunity in a second,” said Todd Imhof, Executive Vice President of Heritage Auctions. “Mark has long been familiar to all of us at Heritage, and, when everything lined up just right to have him join the fold, there was no hesitation. We are sure his experience and great reputation will lend itself superbly to the model we’ve established.”
For more than three decades Feld has been an active and important presence in the rare coin business, working for Steve Ivy Rare Coins, Heritage Rare Coin Galleries (and early incarnation of Heritage Auctions), David Hall, Mark Salzberg, NGC, Pinnacle Rarities and as owner of his own numismatic business, Mark Feld Rare Coins.
