Christies is hosting a Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, online now through November 12.
The auction features a selection of artwork from the Holly Solomon Collection including works by New Imagists, Pattern and Decoration artists and New York City icons such as Gordon Matta-Clark, Mary Heilmann and Peter Young. This auction also features exciting artwork from established and contemporary artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Barbara Kruger and Richard Diebenkorn.
Holly Solomon was a tastemaker in the New York City art world throughout the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s, and was the subject of portraits by masters such as Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe and Richard Artschwager.
