Hart Davis Hart to Hold Final Auction of 2017: December 14th, 15th & 16th

Including The Olander Collection, The Fox Cellar and The Collection of Huston Street

(Chicago, IL)-Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the #1 auction house in the U.S., announces an exceptional three-day auction that will take place December 14th, 15th and 16th at Spiaggia in Chicago. Valued at $5.6-8.5 million, the auction will feature 3,686 lots of incredible diversity and provenance including a rare 12 bottle offering of 1982 Château Le Pin (est. $70,000-100,000).

Hart Davis Hart’s December auction boasts a host of wines and spirits that are sure to please every palate and budget. Thursday’s session will open with a collection of Bordeaux wines from the esteemed Fox Cellar (lots 31-51) followed by a selection of Rhône, White Burgundy, and Italian wines from The Collection of Huston Street (lots 240-426).

Additionally, this sale includes wines from The Olander Collection (lots 1511-2126) and The Wine Cellar of TRU Restaurant (lots 2458-2582). The Olander Collection features 299 lots of California wines including several vintages of Harlan Estate, as well as assorted Italian and Bordeaux wine. The Wine Cellar of TRU Restaurant was recently acquired by a private collector from the cellar of the shuttered Michelin two-starred Chicago fine dining restaurant. The collection features top Burgundy, Bordeaux and Rhône spanning 80 vintages. Both collections have excellent provenance and were stored in ideal conditions.

Also of special note is an incredibly rare 12 bottle OWC of 1982 Château Le Pin (est. $70,000-100,000). Hart Davis Hart previously sold 6 magnums of 1982 Le Pin in our 2010 Celebration of Bordeaux auction for $101,575. This is an extraordinary offering that has the potential to be the most expensive case of 1982 Château Le Pin sold at auction.

Alongside these spectacular consignments, HDH’s December sale will include a collection of Champagne sourced directly from the cellars of Krug (lots 687-715). Included in this consignment are several late released bottles of the 1988 and 1995 Krug, Brut vintages.

Collectors of fine and rare spirits will find nearly 400 lots of spirits estimated between $374,450-561,430. Highlights include NV Old Rip Van Winkle 25 year Straight Bourbon Whisky, Bottled by Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery (est. $10,000-15,000), 1955 Bowmore 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch (est. $6,000-9,000), and NV Hakushu 25 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky, Limited Edition (est. $2,600-3,800).

Hart Davis Hart will also be donating all the proceeds from lots 1025-1034 to the David G. McLone Foundation which provides assistance to children with Spina Bifida. HDH welcomes bidders to compete fiercely for these quality wines and to help bring awareness to this excellent foundation.
