Hart Davis Hart November Winer Auction Brings $3.1 Million

In a single day Auction of Finest & Rarest Wines this past weekend, Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. brought in $3.1 million against a pre-sale estimate of $2.1-3.1 million. The impressive sale took place with all wines being held in Hong Kong and demonstrated the strength and importance of the Hong Kong market to HDH.

Red Burgundy continued to see strong results this weekend. Highlights included 12 bottles of 1962 La Romanée, Maison Leroy which garnered $45,410 (lot 37, est. $28,000-42,000); 6 bottles of 2005 Romanée-St-Vivant, Sylvain Cathiard which sold for $17,925 (lot 114, est. $9,000-14,000); and 6 bottles of 2015 Chambertin, Armand Rousseau which brought in $17,925 (lot 191, est. $11,000-17,000)

Demand was also strong for Red Bordeaux with 12 bottles of 1982 Château Lafite Rothschild selling for $38,240 (lot 128, est. $20,000-30,000); 11 bottles of 1989 Château Le Pin bringing in $31,070 (lot 97, est. $22,000-32,000); and a full case of 2005 Château Lafleur garnering $17,925 (lot 264, est. $11,000-17,000).

Additional highlights from the sale included 3 jeroboams of 1999 Louis Roederer, Cristal which brought in $5,378 (lot 300, est. $2,400-3,500); 2 bottles of 2003 Ermitage, Cuvée Cathelin, J. L. Chave which garnered $10,158 (lot 399, est. $7,000-10,000); and 12 bottles of 2007 Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatières, Domaine d’Auvenay (Leroy) which sold for $28,680 (lot 208, est. $12,000-18,000).
