Annalee Museum Dolls for Auction

Own an Original Piece of History from Annalee Dolls, Inc.

Meredith, NH – This June, avid collectors and new Annalee followers will be able to own an original piece of Annalee history. All they have to do is submit the winning bid!

On June 12, 2008, at 10:00 AM, Annalee Dolls, Inc. will be auctioning off original hand-painted dolls that were on display at the Annalee Museum in Meredith, New Hampshire. This auction is a result of Annalee’s endeavor to make these cherished dolls available to anyone through a new virtual museum. Pieces such as the 1950s Girl Scout, 1960s Friar, and 1960s Oil Tycoon will go to the highest bidder and be given a new home where they will continue to be enjoyed. Collecting these American-made dolls bring years of enjoyment to a home, and can become an heirloom to be passed from one generation to the next.

Annalee Dolls was founded by Annalee Thorndike in the 1950s. She began pursuing her doll making hobby when her husband’s poultry farm began to falter. Starting from a small home based business, doll sales grew to include outlet stores, florists, and even department stores. Over time, the “Factory in the Woods,” as the Annalee campus was referred to, became a world-renowned doll making company. The unique hand-painted faces and felt-and-wire frames allowed for action and humor, giving their owners versatility with their holiday decorating and years of enjoyment.

To participate in the auction, simply log on to http://www.annalee.com/ on June 12, 2008 at 10:00am and let the bidding begin. The magic is in the smile…going once, going twice, get them before they’re gone!
