Pennsylvania History for Whiteside Auction

A special auction will be held on October 11 and 12, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 East Baltimore Pike/US Route 1, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania (just 1 mile south of Longwood Gardens). Some of the important pieces of Pennsylvania history are the 1880’s photos of George Sharpless (son of Joshua, and Philadelphia Drinker Sharpless), Caroline Biddle, Elizabethtown Hoopes, Hannah Roberts and Martha Lukens Shoemaker, along with a small 1863-1864 Westtown School CDV. Joshua Sharpless was a founding father of the Westtown School, located in Chester County.

Also, to be sold at this auction will be an 1830’s rare “Forget Me Not” by Edward Picot, a Hannah Pyle watercolor and poem, the Chambers and Sill family Bibles, along with rare primitive woodenware items and tools.
