Schrader Auction Company Wins Three Awards

Schrader Auction Company emerged as a big winner in the Ohio Auctioneers Association’s Advertising Contest for 2008, with marketing campaigns winning three categories, including Farm/Agricultural Real Estate.

The Farm/Agricultural Real Estate winning campaign led to a successful auction for Gary Farms in New Madison, Ohio, in Darke County. The 268-acre property sold in 11 tracts, including tillable land, hunting land and development land. The auction attracted a crowd of more than 200 people, including 27 registered bidders. It resulted in a total sale price of $1,375,000. Bidders came not only from Ohio, but also from Indiana, Florida and Massachusetts.

Judges cited Schrader’s use of aerial maps and photos as a factor in their decision.

“With the ‘message clutter’ people face today, it’s more important than ever to present properties in a way that gets attention and makes it easier for prospective buyers to make good decisions. We’ve found that combining maps with aerial photography for print and interactive media can be a powerful tool, so we have aggressively developed our technologies in this regard,” said Rex Schrader, president of the firm.

The New Madison campaign was directed by Kevin Wendt, CAI, Schrader’s auction manager in Ohio.

In other categories, Schrader took first place in advertising for Farm/Agricultural Chattels (Arden Schrader) and Commercial/Industrial Chattels (John Nixon).

Schrader Auction Company, based in Columbia City, Ind., is one of the nation’s leading auctioneers.
