Kaminski Auctions, one of Massachusetts’ premier antiques and fine art auction houses, announces its August Estates Auction. The two-day auction features antiques, fine art, collectibles and maritime memorabilia from estates spanning Massachusetts to Kaminski’s second location in California. The auction takes place Saturday and Sunday August 22-23 next to the Windward Grille at 109 Eastern Ave. in Essex, Massachusetts. Bidding commences at 10am EST each day.
History buffs will jump at the chance to bid on a rare Indian rifle ($15,000-$25,000). The rifle was originally owned by White Man Runs Him, General George A. A pair of earrings and matching necklace feature an array of ten opals, each boasting a decorative surface design. An unusual 14-karat gold setting also boasts over 50 diamonds. The pieces are signed “Leon Paule Couture” and weigh 5.5 ozt in total.
Also featured is a Newcomb College art pottery vase ($10,000-$15,000). The multi-colored base boasts a blue and green forest design. The piece is signed and numbered on the bottom and measures 5.5 inches high.
Additional fine art offerings include a painting by Viennese artist Hans Zatzka (1859-1945). Zatzka is well known for his religious paintings, which are highly sought after at auction.
