United Country Bonnette Auction Company [] announces the auction Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 10a.m. of a three-story historical mansion, according to Barbara Bonnette, auctioneer.

Originally built in 1847, the mansion located at 506 St. Philip Street in Thibodaux has been fully renovated with modern luxurious amenities.

“This estate received the Preservation Award from the Lafourche Heritage Society in 2006,” noted Bonnette. “The magnificent detail begins as you step thorough the grand entrance.”

The 8,998 square-foot home has five bedrooms and six baths. The estate boasts beautiful copper ceilings, heart of pine and Turkish marble floors throughout. The kitchen’s cypress cabinets, granite counter tops, and Viking stainless steel commercial grade appliances are a chef’s dream.

The master suite is an incredible 3,200 square foot retreat, featuring stained glass, two marble fireplaces, a parlor, study, exercise room, guest bath, laundry, and a stunning master bath with venation plaster walls that give an old world look.

Bonnette said, “The Dansereau-Caldwell Mansion preserves the traditional appearance and vibe for which Louisiana Plantations are famously known.”

This estate offers privacy from the street, private parking in the rear, with an additional 800 square foot outbuilding that is fully heated. Over 500 high end furnishings, antiques, bronzes, garden ornaments, glassware, paintings, rugs and more will be sold under the tent.

The auction will be conducted live on-site and is open to the public. Bidders must register prior to bidding. Interested parties who cannot attend the live auction may bid online using Proxibid. Open house is set for Sunday, November 1, from 2pm to 4pm.
