Tri-City Energy Biodiesel Plant Real Estate and Equipment Auction

The Tri-City Energy Biodiesel plant and real estate auction originally set for Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Keokuk, Iowa is rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. The auction will still be held on-site at 219 S. 5th Street, Keokuk, Iowa.

The sale is in conjunction with a sheriff’s sale pursuant to a foreclosure decree granted by the Iowa District Court in and for Lee County.

In addition to the biodiesel plant, real estate and lab assets, the auction will now include a 51 percent membership interest in the associated glycerin plant. Interested persons may contact the auction company for specific details on this purchase possibility.

Founded in 2006, Tri-City Energy is a privately-held company and was the 11th biodiesel plant built in the Iowa to begin production using soybean oil as a primary feedstock.

Buyers will have the option of purchasing the plant equipment and real estate individually or as a package. The facility has an extensive lab that will be available for purchase as a second tract, independent of the real estate, process equipment and glycerin interest.
