National Auctioneers Day

The third Saturday of April marks a special day in the lives of Auctioneers throughout the U.S., National Auctioneers Day. The Michigan State Auctioneers Association (MSAA) will join fellow Auctioneers across the nation to celebrate this annual event, Saturday, April 17th, 2010.

One of America’s oldest professions and the last bastion of the competitive, free enterprise system, auctions and auctioneering continue to grow. Auctions thrive in today’s economy with approximately a quarter-trillion dollars in goods and assets sold annually at live auction in the U.S. On the lawn or online, buyers and sellers use the auction method of marketing to buy and sell real estate, personal property, business assets, antiques, art, automobiles, livestock and much more.

Consumers enjoy the thrill of an auction. Auctions are an effective and efficient means of turning assets into cash quickly. Most importantly, auctions are fun and entertaining. Auctioneers celebrate National Auctioneers Day each year by volunteering in their communities.

Celebrating its 60th Anniversary in 2011, the Michigan State Auctioneers Association is the oldest and largest organization representing Michigan Auctioneers available today!

The Michigan State Auctioneers Association is an association formed in 1951 by a group of aspiring auctioneers to represent the interests of auctioneers in the state of Michigan. The association semiannually holds informational and educational meetings and seminars, publishes a national award winning quarterly magazine, and represents the interest of auctioneers with governmental departments and the state legislature. The association also promotes the betterment of auctioneers through its educational efforts and legislation affecting the industry.
