Cat Auction Services has announced it will hold an unreserved public auction in Greenwood, Neb., on Thursday, July 29. Coming on the heels of heavy equipment auctions in Des Moines, Iowa, and the Twin Cities, Minn., Cat Auction Services returns to the Omaha area for the first time since its successful auction in August 2009. The event will be held at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood and will feature a broad assortment of agricultural equipment from a number of manufacturers such as John Deere, Challenger, Case and Massey Ferguson, as well as a wide array of heavy construction equipment. The auction will begin at 9 a.m. local time.
The Omaha event is expected to generate interest from across the United States and around the world. Potential buyers are invited to view the entire equipment list online prior to the event by visiting www.catauctions.com. Real-time online bidding will be available on the day of the auction through the company’s website. Participants are invited to register early and access the detailed TA-1 level inspection reports on the heavy equipment.
Cat Auction Services President Rick Albin said, “This auction is a slight departure from our previous auctions in that there is a strong presence of agricultural equipment. We’ve proven that we can draw a large audience for our big equipment auctions, and we’re confident that our success in that segment of the business will transfer seamlessly to the ag arena. The people who deal in big iron know what we’re about. I encourage anyone who has an interest in quality farm implements to come out and see what we have to offer.”
More than 160 pieces of equipment have been consigned to the Nebraska auction thus far and more items are being added daily. The auction will feature tractors, combines, round balers, forage harvesters and sprayers on the agricultural side, and motor graders, motor scrapers, compactors and skid steer loaders for construction-oriented buyers.
Albin noted that the Omaha auction also represents an opportunity for Cat Auction Services to reach out to new audiences and help them understand how the company is “raising the bar” in the auction industry. Feedback the company has received surrounding its innovative Leaderboard™ display, TA-1 level inspection reports and Equipment Protection Plans — hallmarks of the year-and-a-half-old company — has been extraordinarily positive. The Leaderboard is a high-impact display screen located at the front of the auction theater and shows each piece of equipment in action, giving bidders key information about performance and options.
“The support we’ve received from buyers and sellers alike reinforces the fact that we’re delivering on our promise to provide great value to all involved,” Albin said. “Our goal from the beginning has been to help sellers receive a fair price for the equipment they’ve consigned, and to help buyers make knowledgeable, informed decisions. We feel that our approach is the right way to do business, and we know that it’s resonating with those in the industry.”
Cat Auction Services entered the heavy equipment auction arena in late 2008 and has been active across the country. Reviews from all corners have been positive, and recent auctions have drawn buyers from 49 states and nearly three dozen countries. The recent auction in Des Moines generated over $9 million in sales.
By conducting auctions that provide value to both the buyers and sellers, Cat Auction Services complements and enhances the relationship between Cat dealers and their customers. Cat Auction Services was formed through a unique partnership of Cat dealers with the endorsement of Caterpillar, Inc. The addition of a proprietary auction arm to the portfolio of services available to Cat customers and others in the heavy equipment industry builds upon the company’s existing customer loyalty.
The I-80 Speedway site is located between Omaha and Lincoln, Neb., on Interstate 80 at exit 420. More information about the company and consigning equipment to the auction can be found at www.catauctions.com
