Clarke’s June 13th auction will consist of over 450 lots consigned from estates in the greater New York area including two Fifth Ave estates, Englewood, Greenwich, Scarsdale, Larchmont and Rye.
Fine art in this auction includes five classic New York snow scenes by Guy C Wiggins and Johann Berthelsen, Judaic art by David Burliuk, Eugene Zak, Ernst Oppler, Boris Schatz, N. Cikovsky, Modechai Levanon and Abraham Walkowitz; European art by or attributed to PJ Leyendecker, Jules Pascin, Constant Troyon, HJ Harpignies, and Eugene Delacroix; traditional American art by Frank Vincent Dumond, Robert Emmett Owen, modern art by Sol Wilson, Gandy Brodie, Terrance Lindall, Daniel Ghiatza, Gabriel Godard, Miro, Dali -2, Braque, collections of Costigan and Aiden Ripley prints, and two large 19th C. bronze putti, one signed by Albert E. Harnisch.
Also featured in this auction is a gilt and crimson footed clock by Pablo Friedeberg.
Decorative Arts highlights are a large collection of Baccarat paperweights, Meissen, bronze lizards, American Indian bowl, Steuben glass, Loetz, Staffordshire figurines, Royal Crown Derby, Susie Cooper Wedgwood, marble pedestals, and Murano stemware.
Midcentury Modern and Contemporary includes Martino Gamber “Rita” armchairs, a Karl Springer parchment console, an Evans coffee table, bronze and carved wood sculptures, an Eames chair and ottoman, Danish modern lighting, Scandanavian and Murano signed glass including a Livio Seguso sculpture, and unidentified quality midcentury furniture.
Antiques being sold June 13th consist of American Empire servers, marbletop chests, sofa, and a drop leaf table with heavily carved base and paw feet; a 19th century French marbletop and ormolu commode and a transitional Louis XV-XVI kingwood and parquetry table, a pair of Louis XV carved beechwood armchairs and pieces being catalogued.
Sterling and silver lots such as a collection of silver and china pill boxes including Georg Jensen, a pair of Gorham bowls, a large Tiffany picture frame, Danish flatware, a 230 troy ounce Mexican tea set, a large Reed and Barton flatware service, large chargers by Gorham and Reed and Barton, an Anglo-Indian teapot, a 160 troy ounce Continental silver service and many mixed lots of sterling and Continental silver will also be sold June 13th.
Estate jewelry includes 14k-18k gold, diamond and gemstone bracelets, chains, and rings, and Southwest American Indian sterling, turquoise, and coral necklaces and rings.
