Bonhams announce that Sarah Reyburn Nelson has been appointed its Specialist of Impressionist, Modern & Contemporary Art in San Francisco. Ms. Nelson joins Bonhams with more than 10 years of experience in the field of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art in New York and London. She specializes in European and American art of the late 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

Nelson holds an MA in The History of Art from Richmond University, London, and a BA in Art History and French from Rollins College. She studied 20th century European Art History at The American University of Paris and has studied International Marketing in context of the art world at Harvard University, Cambridge. Most recently Nelson collaborated with a five star international hotel group where she valued art collections for sixteen properties nationally. Before this, at a London-based auction house, she catalogued and researched for the Impressionist & Modern works on paper department, and was promoted to Specialist in the Contemporary Art department, where she worked on evening sales, with a focus in Post War American art.
She began her career in the Impressionist & Modern Art department at an international auction house in New York, where she worked on the evening sales and was responsible for securing numerous museum loans. Nelson holds both United States and Australian citizenship.
