MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Skinner, Inc. will host a Discovery auction on June 13th and 14th in its Marlborough gallery. The sale presents a broad assortment of estate silver, antique jewelry, designer and vintage clothing, contemporary and antique accessories, and textiles.

Estate Silver
A vast selection of estate silver will be featured, including a set of eight Watson World War I-related sterling silver mint julep cups (lot 2, estimated between $600 and $800). Each cup is engraved with a European place name and date appearing to relate to the movements of the 26th “Yankee” Infantry Division of the United States Army. Also on offer is an early 20th century Gorham sterling Art Nouveau “Athenic” vase (lot 46, $400 to $600), and a four-piece Demitasse English silver coffee service (lot 105, $600 to $800) by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.
Antique Jewelry
Notable jewelry lots offered include a gilt pewter and onyx necklace and earclips by Robin Quigley (lot 317, $300 to $500), a 14kt gold braided Victorian bracelet (lot 368, $600 to $800), and a vintage Artemio Navarette silver necklace (lot 387, $300 to $500).

The June Discovery auction offers a variety of couture clothing and accessories including a Karl Lagerfeld for Jean Patou evening dress (lot 672, $1,000 to $2,000), and Hermes silk scarves (lot 624, $300 to $500). A vintage Cartier women’s burgundy leather tote will also be offered (lot 691, $200 to $300).
Textiles
Also featured at the antiques auction is a fine selection of both international and domestic textiles highlighted by a large silk and embroidered scenic Asian wall-hanging (lot 636, $200 to $300), and a set of Art Deco printed cotton drapes from the estate of Susan Parrish (lot 639, $200 to $250).
Antique Furniture
Furniture highlights include a Pennsylvania polychrome paint-decorated poplar dovetail-constructed blanket chest (lot 955, $400 to $600), an Eldred Wheeler Queen Anne-style carved tiger maple and maple flat-top highboy (lot 880, $1,000 to $1,500), and an English Victorian carved and turned rosewood one-drawer stand with stretcher base (lot 915, $400 to $600).
