MATTHEW S. WILCOX JOINS WESCHLER’S AUCTIONEERS & APPRAISERS IN WASHINGTON, D.C., AS THE FIRM’S NEW DIRECTOR OF TRUSTS AND ESTATES

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Matthew S. Wilcox has been appointed Director of Trusts and Estates at Weschler’s Auctioneers & Appraisers in Washington, D.C. In his new position Wilcox will work with estate planners, attorneys and executors to appraise, manage and sell tangible estate assets: fine art, antiques, jewelry and other collectibles.

A member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and the former Vice President of Trusts and Estates at Freeman’s Auctions in Philadelphia, Pa., Wilcox brings 15 years of auction and appraisal experience to his new role at Weschler’s, the oldest auction house in the nation’s capital, founded in 1890. A graduate of Bowdoin College, Wilcox holds a Master’s degree in Art History from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from George Washington University.

“I am very excited to come to D.C.’s premier auction house to join Weschler’s veteran team of appraisers and auctioneers,” Wilcox said. “Reaching the top of the market in our fine Capital Collections auctions, but also dedicated to broad estate tangibles in our weekly Metro Auctions, Weschler’s provides a unique quality and breadth of service to estates from throughout the country.”
