Heritage Auctions announced that Caroline Ashleigh, former Antiques Roadshow and current HGTV appraiser, has accepted a position with the auction house as consignment director.
Ashleigh will continue operating Caroline Ashleigh Associates, LLC from her home base in Birmingham, Michigan, using her internationally recognized expertise to bring in consignors and buyers from all over the world.
Caroline Ashleigh is a graduate of New York University with a degree in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts, and is a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America. She is an accredited USPAP Appraiser of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, DC, and has received specialized training in art crime investigation by the founder of the FBI Art Crime Team.
Ashleigh began her career as a member of the educational department staff of the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, and Cranbrook Art Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She is an experienced appraiser of collections, estates and archives; and has served as an art expert in court cases. She is a nationally known appraiser and became an Antiques Roadshow appraiser in 1997. She has since joined HGTV as an art expert.
Caroline Ashleigh has written scores of articles for various publications and is a published author on art and antiques subjects. She has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes and Art and Antiques Magazine; and lectures throughout the country on collecting and connoisseurship.
