Unique Auctions are bringing to auction a major collection of works by the artist Franklin White (1892 – 1975).
Franklin White’s works can be seen in public museums, art galleries and private collections around the world. The majority of Franklin White’s work has never been available on the art market. The sale takes place on Friday 28th & Saturday 29th September. The Franklin White Collection includes approximately 2,500 paintings and drawings.
Franklin White was a teacher at the Slade School of Art from the 1920s until his retirement in 1957. Laterly he founded the Samuel Palmer School of Art.
Works by Franklin White are in possession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, as well as The British Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Laing Art Gallery (Newcastle-upon-Tyne), The City of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, The Ashmolean Museum (Oxford) and The National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne). His work has appeared in the private collections of Noel Coward, The Marchioness of Dufferin and Alva, and the Rt Hon Sir Alexander Cadogan.
