Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. Finishes Spring Season with a Two Day Auction at TRU Restaurant in Chicago on June 24th & 25th

Featuring First-Growth Bordeaux, Rare Whiskeys and Plénitude 3 Direct from Dom Pérignon

(Chicago, IL)-Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. will hold its final auction of the season on June 24th and 25th at Chicago’s TRU restaurant. The sale is comprised of an impressive 2,561 lots estimated to garner between $3.8M and $5.6M in total. This two-day event will feature old and new world wines of incredible diversity and provenance, including an estate-direct offering of Dom Pérignon’s rare P3.

Bordeaux collectors will be pleased to find 756 lots spanning 14 decades with selections from 90 châteaux, with an impressive 191 lots of First Growth Bordeaux (est. $615,000-923,000) and 21 lots of Château Pétrus (est. $131,650-194,600) on offer. The sale also features a wealth of rare Burgundy including extensive offerings from DRC, Armand Rousseau, Dujac, and Leflaive.

Recently there has been overwhelming demand for Rye and Bourbon. Collectors seeking these fine spirits will not want to miss the last few consignments in our Friday session. Starting at lot 1142, bidders will find highly desirable Pappy Van Winkle along with other rarities including a bottle of 1949 Old Fitzgerald Straight Bourbon Whiskey (lot 1250, est. $3,000-4,500), Parker’s Heritage Collection #2, 27 Year Straight Bourbon (2 bs) (lot 1218, est. $2,000-3,000), and Rittenhouse 25 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey, Barrel #18 (1 b) (lots 1231 & 1232, est. $1,300-1,900).

In addition to the many consignments from esteemed private collectors, Hart Davis Hart’s June auction will also include a selection of wines direct from the cellars of Dom Pérignon with twelve vintages of the rare Plénitude 3 (P3) (lots 1957-2014). These extraordinary champagnes have been aged for a minimum 20 years on their lees, and offer new expressions of classic Dom vintages. Highlights from this parcel include 1969 Dom Pérignon Brut, P3 (3 bs) (lots 1957-1960, est. $4,800-7,500), 1976 Dom Pérignon Brut, P3 (1 b) (lot 1976, est. $1,500-2,200), and 1983 Dom Pérignon Brut, P3 (3 mags) (lot 2000, est. $6,000-9,000).
