Hart Davis Hart to Host Fourth Annual Bordeaux-Only Auction

Featuring a Full Barrel of 2016 Château Montrose Along with Gems from Top Bordeaux Estates

(Chicago, IL)-Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. is excited to announce its fourth annual Bordeaux-only auction, A Celebration of Bordeaux, to be held on November 3rd and 4th. The auction is comprised of 1,480 lots across 47 vintages and is estimated to garner $3.7-5.6 Million. In addition to a vast array of selections from private cellars, the sale will feature consignments direct from Léoville Las Cases and Montrose. HDH’s Celebration of Bordeaux is the largest Bordeaux-only auction in the world. Each year, this unique sale showcases the winemaking, innovation, and commitment to quality that we’ve seen in Bordeaux in recent years.

The November auction will include selections from some of the finest private Bordeaux collections in the world. Eminent among these is an offering of wines from the cellar of Los Angeles Angels relief pitcher, Huston Street (lots 214-500). ThisThis impeccable offering showcases several legendary wines of Bordeaux, including full cases of 2010 Château Latour (est. $9,000-14,000), 1990 Château Margaux (est. $8,000-12,000) and 2009 Château Lafite Rothschild (est. $6,000-9,000) among other rarities. Also of note is “Classic Bordeaux from a Chicago Cellar” (lots 741-873) as well as “Magnificent Bordeaux from an East Coast Collector,” both of which span multiple decades and feature full cases and large format bottlings of first growths from classic vintages. A new installment from the legendary Fox Cellar (lots 1-83) is also not to be missed.

Alongside these fine consignments, HDH is proud to offer two Châteaux-direct offerings. Bidders will have the unique opportunity to buy a full barrel, equivalent of 25 cases of wine, of the exquisite 2016 Château Montrose, which will be bottled in the winner’s desired combination of formats, from half-bottle (375ml) to Primat (27L). Château Montrose CEO Hervé Berland will also “deliver” the wine by coming to the home of the winning bidder to host a special tasting of Château Montrose. Many other pristine lots from Montrose’s cellar will also be available (lots 953-974). A consignment from Château Léoville Las Cases (lots 191-202) will include a very rare, limited edition case of single varietal bottlings from the 1986 vintage. Only 80 of these cases will be released worldwide, making this a coveted chance to obtain one of the greatest Léoville Las Cases ever made, in its component parts.

Highlights of the sale include:
• Wines from more than 100 châteaux
• 47 vintages represented dating from 1926 including historic vintages such as 1926, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982 and 1989
